Katerina teaches fused and stained glass group workshops throughout the UK at a wide range of venues, including but not limited to, galleries, universities, village halls and centres, pubs, cafés, corporate venues and customer's homes.
During the workshops, you will learn many of the processes Katerina works with daily as a designer-maker. Once you have mastered cutting glass, you will be taught how to cut more complex shapes, using specific artists tools to help guide you. There is always an abundance of glass to work with in its many forms and a wide array of colours to incorporate into your design. Group workshops are based around a set project including jewellery, coasters, fruit bowls, Christmas decoration hangings, stained glass panels, lanterns, garden stakes, poppies, wall pieces, and free-standing sculptures. Group workshops are ideal for groups of friends and family, parties, events and office team-building exercises as they are inclusive of all abilities and have a great social element to them, whilst achieving work to be proud of.
Workshops are also held at Katerina's studio in Loughborough for one-to-one tuition where students are able to explore their creativity and work with Katerina to put their individual ideas into practice, creating specific pieces from small-scale works to one-off textural sculptures. This is the perfect option for those who want to delve deeper into learning a new skill or have a project in mind. Small group workshops for up to four students and longer weekly courses are also taught at the studio in a very intimate setting.
